About

Welcome to the Kafeneion! Καλώς ορίσατε! (kah-los oh-ree-sah-teh)

The Kafeneion is dedicated to the discussion and celebration of good food, nutrition through good food, travel and food news, all with a focus on Greece and the Mediterranean.  I want to share my passion for all things Mediterranean, especially the Mediterranean diet, which is so healthy and so easy to incorporate into any lifestyle, not to mention delicious!

I'll share old Greek recipes from my Greek grandmother γιαγιά and Lebanese recipes from my husband's grandmother that will hopefully become a mainstay in your recipe repetoire that your family will love.
For those who've seen the beautiful blue pictures of Santorini and whitewashed alleyways of Mykonos and wished to see these postcard images one day, I hope my travel guides and tips for traveling throughout Greece and the Greek islands will make your experience an unforgettable one or just exaggerate the desire further!

I'll share important news from the region along with food, nutrition and travel news to keep you up to date on the latest reports and always only from reputable sources.  Welcome again to the Kafeneion and hope you enjoy! Καλό διάβασμα! Happy reading!
